LBMX Partners with Fanshawe for Artificial Intelligence Award

“When you reach the top, you should remember to send the elevator back down for the others.” This quote has been attributed to Edith Piaf. For businesses like LBMX, this aphorism means creating opportunities for others in hopes that they have an easier ride, set higher goals, and enjoy what you worked so hard to attain.

With this in mind, LBMX has partnered with Fanshawe College to create that institution’s first scholarship specifically for Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Artificial Intelligence (AI) promises to change the way that independent businesses serve their customers, run their operations, and collaborate with their buying groups. Not too long ago, AI applications were too complicated and expensive for independent businesses or buying groups to consider. Today, with solutions from LBMX and others, AI is accessible to everyone.

Fanshawe College, located in London, Canada, has introduced an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning post-graduate program focused on teaching students how to build, manage and administer systems that analyze big data and convert it into an autonomous task.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to partner with Fanshawe College and give back to the community,” explained LBMX CEO and President Greg Dinsdale. “Our developers at LBMX have been building a deep learning neural network within the supply chain for independent distributors and their buying groups for years. We want to make sure that there is a next generation of AI developers to take this work even further.”

The new LBMX Award of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning joins an existing LBMX Award of Excellence for Applied Arts and Technology, representing an over $37K commitment to Fanshawe’s School of Information Technology over five years. The awards are given to a full-time Fanshawe College student who has achieved a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.5 and who has exhibited leadership within the classroom and amongst their peers. Awards are presented annually.

With initiatives like this, LBMX is creating a busy elevator scaling new heights that will allow a new generation of star developers to carry the torch in helping independent businesses leverage technology.
